Variation of Nusselt number over a tube surface at constant-wall-temperature condition with respect to the Reynolds number ranging between 100 to 50000 has been presented. The tube was placed in transverse to ambient airflow. Comparisons were done with experimental and numerical results from the reported literatures. Laminar unsteady numerical investigation was done in Fluent for low Reynolds number range while for higher Reynolds number range k-ω SST model was used with inlet turbulent intensity of 0.3%. A reasonably close agreement of results obtained from the present numerical scheme confirms its applicability for cylindrical bodies.
