Title

Development of a Sign Language Translator using Arduino UNO and Flex Sensor

Abstract

Technologies are working hard to break down barriers to communication in today's age of fast technological advancement, but better solutions are still needed, particularly for those who are deaf or hard of hearing. The creation of a "Sign Language Translator" using an Arduino UNO R3, Flex Sensor, LCD 16*2, Potentiometer, Resistors (1k), Breadboard, and Connecting Wires is shown in this work. Through the use of an LCD screen to show text, the Sign Language Translator translates hand gestures into meaningful text for those with speech problems. Users activate the Flex Sensor by bending their fingers, and the Arduino UNO R3 connects with it to understand and display the accompanying sign language message. The technology is more user-friendly since finger motions are recognized accurately thanks to prior calibration. With the help of this research, communication technology will become more inclusive and accessible, enabling those who have speech difficulties to participate more actively in social situations
