Title

Simulation Based Study of Load Flow, Arc Flash and Harmonic Analysis With Comparative Analysis of Protection Scheme on ETAP

Abstract

The present research uses the ETAP (Electrical Transient Analyzer Program) technology set to give a thorough simulation-based investigation of the electrical grid. Three crucial areas are the primary objectives of the studies: arc flashover, harmonic, and load flow analysis. In order to evaluate the power system's steady-state performance under varied running situations, load flow calculations is initially carried out. Further, in order to assess how non-linear demands affect the magnitude of distortion due to harmonics in the system, harmonic assessment is performed. Harmonics can cause irregularities in both current and voltage, which may result in scorching of apparatus, ineffectiveness, and disturbance with delicate electrical components. Abatement measures can be developed by analysing harmonics to make ready the unit functions under reasonable bounds. Finally, to evaluate the possible risks connected to electrical sparks in the network, an arc flash over assessment is done. Arc flashing incidents require appropriate safety precautions since they offer substantial threats to both workforce and apparatus. Additionally, a comprehensive study of precautionary plans is carried out to assess how well they mitigate the hazards that have been recognized. A circuit breaker is one example of a protective equipment that is evaluated for reaction time as well as dependability.
