Title

A Framework to Make Voting System Transparent Using Blockchain Technology

Abstract

Electronic voting (e-voting) systems have gained significant attention as a means to modernize and streamline the voting process, enhancing accessibility and security. This paper presents the design and implementation of an eVoting web application leveraging Python's blockchain technology and the Django framework. The proposed system incorporates blockchain technology to ensure transparency, immutability, and tamper resistance of the voting data. Smart contracts are employed for managing the voting process, ensuring that only authorized voters can cast their ballots and that each vote is recorded securely on the blockchain. The Django framework is utilized for the development of the web application, providing a robust and scalable platform for user interaction, administration, and data management. The application features user authentication, intuitive interfaces for voters and administrators, real-time result updates, and audit trails for transparency. Key functionalities include a secure authentication mechanism for voters, the ability to cast votes electronically, real-time monitoring of the voting process, and comprehensive reporting tools for administrators. The blockchain technology ensures the integrity of the voting data, mitigating risks associated with traditional eVoting systems. The implementation of the eVoting web application demonstrates the feasibility and effectiveness of combining Python's blockchain capabilities with the Django framework to create a secure, transparent, and user-friendly eVoting solution. Future work may focus on scalability enhancements, usability refinements, and integration with additional security measures to further enhance the reliability and trustworthiness of the system.
