The human trafficking is a global phenomenon which has increased significantly over the past two decades both nationally and internationally. India is a source, destination, and transit country for men, women, and children trafficked for the purposes of forced labour and commercial sexual exploitation. Trafficking in persons, particularly in children for various purposes, such as, commercial sexual exploitation, forced labour, domestic servitude, begging etc. is a serious organized crime of the day which transcending cultures, geography, and time that gravely violates the basic human rights. The vulnerable sections of the society have become more prone to trafficking. Women and children are considered to be the most vulnerable sections of the society.
