Title

GENERATIVE AI IN SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING

Abstract

This study investigates the awareness and perceptions of deepfake content among 200 surveyed participants, revealing significant insights into its prevalence and impact on social media platforms. The findings indicate widespread acknowledgment of deepfake content, with a majority encountering it online. Despite this awareness, there is a reluctance among users to report or flag such content, potentially due to identification challenges or fears of consequences. While opinions on social media platform effectiveness vary, there is consensus on the necessity for stricter policies to regulate deepfake dissemination. Efforts to raise awareness and develop technological solutions for detection are also deemed essential. Furthermore, generational differences in attitudes towards data privacy and security on social media platforms highlight the nuanced understanding of these issues across demographics. Overall, the study underscores the multifaceted nature of addressing deepfake challenges, emphasizing the need for comprehensive approaches combining technological advancements and regulatory measures to mitigate their harmful effects.
