Background: Parkinson's disease is a common progressive neurological ailment that causes considerable disability and reduces quality of life. Although the etiology of Parkinson's disease is uncertain, the pathological manifestation is dopaminergic neuron loss or dysfunction in the substantia nigra pars compacta. Methods: Usually, dopamine precursors are employed. Dopamine is not easily transported across the blood-brain barrier. Levodopa is the most common and successful treatment. Dopa decarboxylase converts this dopamine precursor to dopamine, both peripherally and within the CNS. Result: when taking Levodopa with other medications, patients should be closely monitored for potential ADRs. Our effort gave a complete summary of Parkinson's disease therapy possibilities. Conclusion: Some case studies have also been conducted, confirming that there are persons suffering from Parkinson's disease. Although there is no cure for Parkinson's disease, there are several pharmacologic treatments available to help manage both motor and non-motor symptoms.
