Title

Regulatory Markets in India- A Perception Analysis of Farmers in Shivamogga District

Authors

Abstract

Agricultural regulated markets are essential in order to guarantee fair trading practices, pricing transparency, and institutional assistance for farmers. With a focus on market infrastructure, welfare programs, and operational limitations, the current study investigates farmers' perspectives of the advantages, difficulties, and benefits of regulated markets. A standardized questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale was used to gather primary data from farmers. To determine the fundamental factors impacting farmers' attitudes, factor analysis was used. Three main aspects were identified by the rotational component matrix: the advantages, challenges, and benefits of regulated markets. The Chi-square goodness-of-fit test was used to determine how significant farmers' opinions of these things were. The findings showed that farmers' opinions of the advantages and benefits of regulated markets are statistically significant at the 5% level, indicating strong consensus on welfare programs, fair pricing systems, transparent transactions, and market infrastructure. However, the Chi-square results also showed that farmers deal with a number of serious issues, including expensive transportation, a lack of market knowledge, poor grading and storage facilities, late payments, and restricted access to market financing.
