Title

SPECIAL LEGAL PROTECTION OF WOMEN UNDER THE CONSTITUTION OF INDIA WITH REFERENCE TO PROTECT THEIR HUMAN RIGHTS

Abstract

This paper aims to explore the special legal protections provided to women under the Constitution of India in order to protect their human rights. The analysis will delve into the various constitutional provisions, laws, and policies that have been implemented to safeguard women's rights in India. By examining the legal framework and its practical implications, the paper seeks to highlight the progress made in ensuring gender equality and the protection of women's rights in the country.It will also address the challenges and gaps that still exist in the implementation of these protections. The Constitution of India includes special provisions to protect the human rights of women and ensure their equality. These provisions recognize the unique challenges and vulnerabilities faced by women and aim to address them through affirmative action and other measures. Some of the key legal protections for women under the Constitution of India include: • The right to equality before the law and equal protection of the laws without any discrimination based on sex. • The prohibition of discrimination on the grounds of sex in various areas such as employment, education, and access to public spaces. • The right to freedom of speech, expression, and association, which allows women to voice their opinions and engage in collective action for the advancement of their rights.
