Abstract
This paper analyses on the socio economic realm of medieval Kerala and important role played by the Syrian Christians as the mutators of trade and agricultural activities .it also traces the history of Christian traders from the beginning to the medieval period till the arrival of Portuguese and also sees the contribution of Indian coast especially Kerala coast in the mercantile map of the world.
