Abstract

Helical spring is very useful machine element and it is widely use in engineering industries such that suspension, engine valve, weighting machine etc. The present work is about comparison of optimization of helical compression spring using genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization technique (PSO). This will be helpful to selection the technique for optimization problems in engineering, software, management etc. Optimization of helical spring for minimum weight reduce the metal requirement and it is beneficial for industries.
