Thiosemicarbazone of acetanilide (or) Thiosemicarbazone of –N-phenyl acetamide (TSCPA) is a new organic non linear optical material has been effectively grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique. The crystal acquired the above technique were subjected to various characterization analysis. Crystalline nature of the sample was affirmed by powder X-ray diffraction technique. A functional group present in the crystal was distinguished by utilizing FT-IR spectral analysis. Optical properties of the crystals investigate by UV-Visible studies. The thermal stability of the grown crystal was found by DTA/DSC(differential thermal analysis and differential scanning calorimetric) analysis. H1 NMR spectra was recorded to elucidate the molecular structure. Band gap determination of crystal support the application oriented properties of the material.
