My research study basically revolves around the idea , that parents and teachers play a very, very important and pivotal role in developing the careers of college students. Now that career development is a process which involves attainment of career goals, through a well planned method using various management skills. During the entire process of career development the parents and teachers adopt various management skills , at home and at educational institutes and colleges. The most common Management Skills are: 1.Human Skills 2. Technical Skills 3. Conceptual Skills. It is largely observed that by the adoption of the above skills the ability to perform a particular task increases and a task can be thus performed effectively, efficiently and successfully. In the context of the research topic, we have to see that career development, its meaning and definition “Life long process of managing yopr associates ( students) , employee’s work experience within the organization. We have to consider the Roles played by Parents and Teachers in Career Development of student sand also study the various skills adopted by the for the purpose. Some of the Management Skills adopted by Parents: Aptitude and attitude management, Interests, Accountability, Scope, Remmuneration ,Inputs Employability, etc. Some of the Management Skills adopted by Teachers: Extremely pesonalised class – room teaching, visits to work places , job oriented practical knowhow, availability of wide range of career options and relevant information there on, expert support system, etc. It is thus concluded that teachers use new modern tools and upgrade themselves and prepare the students to face the global competition. Parents contribute right from the childhood till the end and provide a strong moral and financial back-up, good home environment accompanied with good vigilant and overall support in developing their careers and lives by giving them the best of values of life to, help them to be good human beings too.
