One of the fundamental limitations looked by the geo-technical engineers is the development of any foundation over a soft or delicate soil as the soil experiences differential settlements, poor shear strength and high compressibility. Enhancing the load bearing capacity of soil is especially fundamental on account of high rise structures developed over delicate soils. The delicate or soft soil can be stabilized by providing a reinforcement called Coconut Coir Fibre. Literature is available on adding and mixing the Fibre into the soil as this technique has been incorporated since ancient times. Fly Ash created in the ignition of subbituminous coals shows self-cementing characteristics and can be utilized as a part of an extensive variety of stabilisation application. In this paper we have focused on increasing the shear strength and CBR value of the Well Graded Sand with Clay (SW-SC) soil by varying the percentage of Coir Fibre in the range of 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75%, 1.0% and the Fly Ash is varied as 3%, 5% and 7% by weight of soil mass.
