Title

Analysis of heat transfer in a triangular lamella (fin) with triangular housing

Abstract

Summary: The convective heat transfer between a surface and the surrounding liquid can be increased by bonding with the surface called fins. Heat conducted through solids, walls, or boundaries must be continuously released to the environment or environment to keep the system in a stable state. In many technical applications, it was necessary to dissipate large amounts of heat from small areas. The fins increase the effective area of a surface, which increases convective heat transfer. The rectangular and triangular fins are straight fins. The triangular louvers are attractive because the same heat transfer requires much less volume than the rectangular louvers. Therefore, the fins are of practical importance, since they offer a maximum heat flow per unit mass with ease of manufacture. In an air-cooled engine, rectangular and triangular ribs are provided around the circumference of the engine cylinder. The analysis of the heat transfer takes place by placing rectangular and then triangular lamellae. The analysis is carried out by varying the temperatures at the surface of the cylinder from 200 ° C to 600 ° C and the length from 6 cm to 14 cm. Input parameters such as density, heat transfer coefficient, thermal conductivity and fin thickness are used and output parameters such as heat flow rate, heat flow per unit determined by mass, efficiency and effectiveness. The comparisons are shown with rectangular fins
