Title

INSURANCE SECTOR IN INDIA – AN APPRAISAL

Abstract

Indian economy has been growing since 1991 due to the initiation of major economic reforms affecting all sectors of the economy. Service sector is one of the important sectors which contribute substantially to GDP of the country. Among, the service sectors, Insurance Sector play a key role. Insurance is considered as an attractive option for investment in India since most people recognize the risk-hedging and tax saving benefits of insurance. This paper presents the current scenario of Insurance sector in India.
