Dryopteris filix mas is a fern and Botanist called it filix-mas means male fern the male fern is one of the most robust species that breed in our country. Its rhizome used medicinally, filicic acid, flavaspidic acid, filmaron, flavonoids are chemical constituents present in it and possess Mujaffif quruh, Qatil e kiram e shikam, Kasir e riyah actions. Studies has been done for its antioxidant, Antibacterial, antifungal, abortifacient actions.
