: In case of building, openings are provided in web of beam to accommodate utility ducts and pipes. It also provides substantial economic saving in the construction of Multi-storey building. However it is important to study the effect of opening on structure. This paper includes the study behavior of Post-tensioned Beam with opening. A various Aspects has been discussed including the effect of different opening shapes and location.The main objective of this paper is to suggest the best suitable location and shape of the opening. The complete analysis work has done by using Finite Element software ANSYS Workbench v18. Comparison of results based on static analysis of Post-tension beam.
