Alphabet Soup for Lovers is Nair’s eighth novel. It was published in the year 2016. In this novel, Nair engages her attention on food and its impact on human beings’ psyche. Lena Abraham’s marriage with KK ends up a cold matter as there is no love or hatred between them. With the arrival of Shoola Pani, an actor, this frozen psyche of Lena melts away and there is a fire of passion between Lena and the actor. Set ablaze in deep desire, Lena goes with him, looking for a self fulfillment. Though the novelist does not explicate the aftermath of this affair, she shows a positive gesture for a woman to come out of her wooden sensations and lead a fulfilled life. The novel is fully occupied with culinary effects. With the help of kitchen things the maid Komathi has learned English Alphabets.
