The COVID-19 pandemic has ravaged the world over the past few months. Since early March 2020, almost every country has seen millions of cases of the virus and several thousand deaths. While millions of people were in their homes in order to decrease the risk of transmission of the infection, health workers were on the frontline in the fight against COVID-19. During this difficult time, pharmacologists have been on the front lines managing and preventing the spread of COVID-19. Some brave and passionate pharmacology students even volunteered to step up and offer their services. Now, with the introduction of a new vaccine to prevent the virus, things seem to be taking a turn in the right direction. This review briefly overviews and states the importance of the role of pharmacologists in COVID-19.
