: For planners and policy makers in India, the inter-state/regional difference has been a significant obstacle. Despite numerous development initiatives, regional disparities continue to exist over time. In terms of the availability of infrastructure, there was a significant divide between the bustling and dynamic region and the hinterland during the time before independence. This shows an uneven level of growth in and of itself. The regional difference has increased during the course of the subsequent five-year plans. The aim of this research is to understand the issue of regional disparities in India, with special reference to the unequal distribution of resources, development, and opportunities across various regions.
