Abstract
Marathi poetry has a long tradition of seven hundred to eight hundred years. In ancient Marathi literature, there are three main streams of 'poetry' namely Saint poetry, Pant poetry and Tant or Shahiri poetry. Saint poetry seems to have tried to educate the society through 'Abhang'.
