Abstract

In this paper, BER is analysed in Free Space Optical (FSO) communication system. In FSO system, Log normal atmospheric turbulence model is used to analyse the link. To minimize the scintillation effect, a PIN detector can be employed at the receiver. Numerical results shows that hybrid modulation technique shows better results as compared to simple SIM based modulation technique. Spatial diversity technique is also applied for performance improvement for the proposed system.
