This paper analyzes debt mutual fund schemes in India and compares the performance of corporate bond and gilt funds. The study finds that ICICI Prudential outperformed Birla Sun Life Corporate Bond, with the highest average return and Sharpe ratios. Aditya Birla Sun Life Gilt Bond, ICICI Prudential, and HDFC Gilt Bond offer high-return investments. The study also highlights the importance of investor awareness and education, as well as the need for a strong regulatory framework for the mutual fund industry. The data is collected through secondary data through money control website. The analytical research methodology is applied for this study and sharpes ratio is used for data analysis and interpreting the results. The study concludes which type of mutual funds are preferred for investment.
