VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is a highly popular way of internet telephony that exists in today's world. Most of the mobile service providers are moving towards IP telephony because of its high reliability, security and cheap establishment and maintenance cost. SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is the protocol which is used to establish voice calls among two or multiple parties over the internet and is the most popular application layer protocol used for VoIP till date. An important part of SIP protocol remains another protocol named SDP (Session Description Protocol) that operates under SIP and is used to describe the multimedia session that is going to be established. However, this exchange of information is done in plaintext and can be exploited by hackers. In this work, we attempted to generate a hash to ensure data integrity which is part of the S/MIME standard. Then as a future goal we have set to encrypt the data and implement digital signature so that the sender is aware of the originator of the message.
