Title

Electrical Discharge Machining of AISI P-20 tool Steel using Taguchi Technique

Abstract

The present work is aimed to optimize the Electric Discharge Machine input parameters like current (Ip), Pulse-on-time (Ton) and electrode diameter (D) on output parameters like overcut. The experiments are carried out on AISI P-20 tool steel work-piece. Eighteen (18) experiments have been conducted with these input parameters in three different levels & measured for each of the experiments run. Effects of These parameters have been optimized by Taguchi technique. It is observed that for optimal results, it has been found that current (Ip) 5Amp, pulse-on-time (Ton) 1000μs and electrode diameter (D) 6mm, which are the best combination of this analysis. ANOVA find the significant parameters of the experiments.
