Oral drug delivery is the most common and preferred route of administration due to its ease of administration and patient compliance. However, low bioavailability remains a significant challenge for certain drugs, including famotidine, due to factors such as poor aqueous solubility, low stability, and extensive first-pass metabolism. Solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) have emerged as a promising approach to enhance the oral bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs. In this study, we aimed to prepare and evaluate famotidine-loaded SLNs to improve its oral bioavailability. The famotidine-loaded SLNs were prepared using a solvent emulsification-evaporation technique and characterized for their physicochemical properties, drug loading efficiency, in vitro release profile, and pharmacokinetic parameters.
