Title

SOCIAL STRUCTURE OF THE BODOS

Abstract

The Bodo tribe is the prominent and oldest tribal groups in North East India. Since the days, the Bodos have been maintaining their distinctive cultural traditions, customs, belief system, dresses, ornaments, songs,music, etc. the main occupation of the Bodos is agriculture. They cultivate like Bawa Mai, Ashu Maiand Maisali Mai. They also observed festivals like Bwisagu, Domashi, Kathi Gasa Saonai, Amthisua, Kherai Pwrbw, Garja Hwnai, etc.
