Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have emerged as powerful tools for social transformation, particularly in advancing women's empowerment in developing regions. In Northeast India, where women often face significant socio-economic and cultural barriers, ICT interventions hold immense potential for bridging gender gaps and fostering economic, educational, and political inclusion. This research examines the challenges and possibilities of ICT interventions aimed at empowering women in Northeast India. Drawing on existing literature, government reports, and case studies, the paper explores the critical role of ICT in addressing issues such as limited access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities, while also discussing the challenges associated with infrastructure, digital literacy, and socio-cultural norms. The paper argues that while ICT has transformative potential, its success in empowering women is contingent upon addressing existing barriers and ensuring that interventions are inclusive, sustainable, and culturally sensitive.
