This study examines the evolution of the Sikh faith, tracing its transition from a strictly religious movement to a position of political dominance. Sikhism was an organized religious institution. However, considering the socio-political circumstances at that time, the Gurus started incorporating political elements into the hitherto exclusively religious organization. Their ideology advocated for a system of government that combines religion and politics in a democratic manner. They are inseparable. The Gurus, through their teachings, instilled political awareness in their disciples. From the factors that necessitated this transition to the resulting conditions once the transition was achieved. This paper aims to encapsulate the entire journey.
