Several strategies are proposed to get the most relevant HTML documents based on the user's query. One of these strategies is the genetic algorithm, which iteratively generates numerous generations utilizing selection, crossover, and mutation before producing the final product. In this study, a new hybrid crossover technique is developed to improve the quality of the data obtained. This technique is applied to HTML pages and assessed using recall, precision, and recall-precision metrics. Its performance is benchmarked against three well-known crossover approaches. The results reveal a significant improvement in the quality of the retrieved documents based on these parameters.
