Denoising has been one of the most innovative topics in image/video processing and security perspective in recent years, and is increasingly finding application in a wide range of modern communication systems. This paper begins with a brief overview of the basic characteristics of denoising and watermarking, and then concentrates on the most significant developments in the denoising and watermarking technology that have been made in the last several years. Emphasis is on the development of new algorithm for improved and secured video communication, and advances in the analytical modeling of video denoising and watermarking algorithms.

Discrete wavelet transform (DWT), discrete cosine transform (DCT), discrete fourier transform (DFT), discrete shearlet transform (DST), singular value decomposition (SVD), peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR), mean square error (MSE).
