The wave of blockchain technology has no boundaries. It is a revolutionary technology and has impacted various industries and businesses. Stock market is not away from its impacts. It was originally developed for bitcoin which is a cryptocurrency, but later on it impacted many other fields. It has the power to change the financial markets and provide more security, efficiency and transparency. It can provide decentralization to stock market. In this paper we discuss about the impact of blockchain technology on stock market operations such as trading, settlement etc. including market transparency, regulatory concerns and investors’ trust. Also the paper discusses about the challenges of using blockchain technology in financial markets.
