INDIA HAS A MULTY-PARTY SYSTEM. THE ELECTION COMMISSION OF INDIA ACCORDS TO NATIONAL LEVEL AND STATE LEVEL LOCAL POLITICAL PARTIES BASED UPON OBJECTIVE CRITERIA. REGIONAL PARTIES HAVE A LIMITED INFLUENCE AND ARE POWERFUL ONLY IN SPECIFIC REGION OR STATE. THEY DISCUSS THE ISSUES AND DEMANDS OF A SPECIFIC RESION. NATIONAL PARTIES GIVE MORE PREFERENCE TO NATIONAL ISSUES OVER REGIONAL PROBLEMS.
