Arias dussumieri were exposed to sublethal concentration of dimethoate i.e. 1/10th of 96 hour LC50 (0.599ppm) for 60 days for study of histopathology. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the Histopathological damages induced by sub-lethal concentrations of dimethoate in Arias dussumieri. The Histopathological studies revealed pathological changes in the tissues like gills and kidney. The gill sandkidneyof the fish exposed to dimethoate exhibited marked Histopathological changes. The main features observed in gill and kidney exposed to sublethal concentration of dimethoate were showed partially ruptured in epithelium of secondary gill lamellae.and peritoneum, expansion of renal tubules, swollen glomerulus and hyperplasia in epithelial cells of renal tubules and wide lumen of the renal tubules of gills and kidney respectively was observed
