Distance education serves as a powerful catalyst for women's empowerment in India, equipping them with knowledge and skills essential for socio-economic independence. This paper investigates the role of distance learning in enhancing the capabilities of women, particularly single mothers, to overcome educational and societal barriers. It examines the limitations of distance education technologies, their impact on women's entrepreneurial aspirations, and the Indian government's initiatives to foster gender equity. The findings highlight the growing need for tailored entrepreneurship education, such as specialized MBA programs, to address performance barriers and support women-owned enterprises.
