A brain computer interface (BCI) is a communication and control scheme that allows brain signals to command a computer or any other peripheral device directly, without involving the motor units. There has been tremendous focus in this technology in last two decades and as a result, a technology primarily meant for medical purposes has made its shift towards the healthy user segment as well. BCI as a technology is getting wide spread attention and focus for medical usage but since it lacks standardization and a common comparison platform, its impact on the healthy user (Casual) market is not of much significance in spite of its huge potential. In this paper we have attempted to suggest a common comparison platform for casual BCIs and provide a guideline for designing an optimal casual BCI.
