Asia is the world's leading beneficiary of foreign direct investment, accounting for 30% of total FDI inflows. The present paper aimed to evaluate the growth of foreign direct investment on an international basis. The study concluded that foreign direct investment inflows and outflows remain high in Asia during both the pre- and post-liberalization eras in comparison to other regions. Foreign direct investment inflows have also decreased in developed countries, but they have steadily increased in developing economies, primarily in Asia and Latin America.
