Security is the main concern in today’s world, be it in terms of data, money and goods. Our traditional door lock has loopholes of key being stolen or someone making a master key or steal our key make its replica and again place the original key to its original place. Existing door security is available with RFID system which is implemented in many places but it also has its own limitation of being stolen or forgetting the card somewhere. Hence it is required some system to ensure the security of our places. Therefore the best option is to use biometric security which can neither be stolen nor we can forget it to any place. In this project, fingerprints are used to ensure the security of the place and only authorized persons can enter in the premises. Another facilities have been included like new users can be added, old users can be removed and list of existing users can be seen. The whole system will be implemented on AVR microcontroller and using optical fingerprint sensor.
