District Institute of Education and Training (DIETs) is a teacher training institution for the elementary level. It includes in-service and pre -service programmes both. The main purpose of these programmes are reform the teachers’ behaviour, enhancing knowledge and skills, create awareness and responsibilities of the teacher, create suitable environment by facilitating new innovations etc. Trainees, teacher educators’ perception on enhancing knowledge and skills due to training are important aspects for research. So the main purpose of this paper is to study the in-service teacher trainees’ perception towards role of DIETs in enhancing knowledge and skills among elementary school teachers.
