The influence of defense expenditure on economic growth has been a considerable attention in defense literature. Earlier studies on Defense expenditure of various countries as well as studies in India have viewed differently in terms of impacts on growth of economy. Hence it is needed to investigate the expenditure for defense in India and to see that whether it or not would affect growth of the economy. To investigate the impact of Defense expenditure the cointegration test has been adopted to find the long run and short run relationship among economic growth, education expenditure, health expenditure and government expenditure. Johansen’s Co-integration test and Keynesian model have been used to investigate the impact.
