This paper is about the investigation of a simulation model grid-connected photovoltaic power generation based on PSCAD/EMTDC software. PV array is combined to an MPPT (maximum power point tracking) implemented by Pand O algorithm to track the maximum power point. A DC-DC Boost converter is employed to increase the maximum power received from the MPPT. The boost converter is regulated by an MPPT formed. Avoltage source converter (VSC) is connected to the boost converter to transform the direct current to alternating current. The output of the VSC is supplied to the grid. The simulation results show the quick variations in the maximum power with the strength of the solar irradiation changes.
