Title

Continuous and Dynamic Journey of Independent India towards Developing an Inclusive Education System

Abstract

After independence on 15th August 1947 India become a Sovereign, Socialistic, Secular, Democratic and Republican country by the Constitutional provisions, where equality, equity and non-discrimination in education is one of the key features. That constitutional provisions act as an initiative force to development of inclusive education system in India. Inclusive education refers to the process of including all the children in a regular school without any kind of discrimination issue where the school’s environment is formed according to the diversity of children. Main objectives of the study is to define the journey of independence India towards developing inclusive education system, in terms of Commissions and Policies, Acts and Schemes and Programmes on education of independent India. The historical research method followed by documentary review is used to conduct the present study. The researchers are reviewed that, from the day of independence the India takes various commissions, policies, Acts, Schemes and Programmes on education which are directed to developing inclusive education system. Researchers also reviewed that, developing an inclusive education system not an abrupt process rather it is a gradual process. This gradual process is continued as equality and non-discrimination to integration to inclusion. The researchers finally conclude that developing an inclusive education system in independent India is a continuous and dynamic journey in which continued with the constitutional provision, is continuing at present and will be future.
