The present paper deals with the study of the impact of urban dust emission on anatomical traits. The light microscopic study of Ficus benjamina and Mimusops elengi leaves showed marked alteration in the micro-morphological parameters. Results revealed increase in stomatal number, epidermal cells number and stomatal index and stomatal frequency in leaves with decrease in stomatal size of leaves from polluted sites as compared to control ones . These parameters are useful as indicators of environmental stress.
