Title

Exploring the Double-Time crux in William Shakespeare's Othello

Abstract

There are some plots where a character does not find enough time to find out the real truth. The character does not notice the mask worn by others to trap him. William Shakespeare in “Othello”, one of his greatest tragedies, uses this technique. The scenes are arranged in a manner where Othello finds no time in checking Iago’s insinuations. Also, it is made in such a way that he does not realises the reflections that falls upon him. This double purpose is involved in adapting this plot and the Double-Time is thus a significant one for this play. The whole plot would have been changed if he had enough time to analyse the situation. This proposed paper titled, “Exploring the Double-Time crux in William Shakespeare’s Othello”, is an attempt to peep in to the areas where the plot is made to hide everything from Othello and thereby, analysing the Double-Time technique.
