Title

EFECT OF CHEMICAL AND GREEN SYNTHESISED SILVER NANOPATRTICLES ON UROPATHOGENS ISOLATED FROM UTI PATIENTS.

Abstract

Silver nanoparticles were synthesized by using chemical (Borohydride reduction) and green synthesis method using the leaves of, Bambusa vulgaris .Characterization of the silver nanoparticles was done by using UV visible spectrometer (UV-visible spectrometer), Particle size analyzer (PSA), Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffractometer (X-Rd).Silver nanoparticles have unique optical, electrical, and thermal properties and are being incorporated into products that range from photovoltaic to biological and chemical sensors. In the present study AgNPs prepared was tested against uropathogen isolated fromUTI patientsThe following bacteria viz., Escheria coli, Klebseilla pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and gram positive Staphlloccocus saprophyticus were isolated from UTI patient’s urine sample that were found resistant to many drugs.The study proved that AgNPs synthesized both chemically and botanically were able to inhibit the growth of the uropathogen more effectively than synthetic antibiotics.Of the two types of NPs, green synthesized AgNPs is more efficient in expressing antibacterial activity than chemically synthesized AgNPs.
