The present study has been undertaken to investigate the role and responsibility of members of the School Management Committee in proper implementation of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. The monitoring and support system provided under the School Management Committee supervises the school functioning and fund flow mechanism. Community participation is enhanced and required results for child enrolment and school retention are obtained under School Management Committee.
