Title

NHANCEMENT OF PV MICROINVERTER DYNAMIC RESPONSE BY FUZZY LOGIC CONTROLLER

Abstract

This paper presents the enhancement of Photovlotaic (PV) Microinverter dynamic response by fuzzy logic controller. Droop control is the key solution for sharing the demand power between generators in autonomous microgrids where there is no support from the electricity distribution grid. Then again in grid connected system current controlled inverters are frequently used due to its quick response to sudden changes of the input power. Droop controlled inverter dynamic response is slow compared to current control dynamic response. However the advantages provided by droop control are ease of implementation, no communication network for parallel operation of inverters, and stability to sudden changes. MPPT algorithm dynamic response is in the range of tens of milliseconds where as droop control dynamic in the range of hundreds of milliseconds. In this proposed system droop curves P-ω and Q-V are adjusted for matching the difference in dynamic response which results in suitable power transfer to the grid. Combination of fuzzy logic control with droop curves further improves the dynamic in terms of settling time, oscillations and total harmonic distortion. The system is developed in MATLAB software for changes of solar radiation.
