This research paper reported different methods to release intracellular L-methionase (MGL) of K. oxytoca BLM-1. The bacterial isolates ‘BLM-1’, ‘BLM-8’ and ‘BLM-9’ yielding a higher amount of MGL were selected to produce intracellular MGL. The cost-effective cell disruption method was preferred to obtain intracellular MGL of the selected bacterial isolate(s). The MGL activity was enhanced in the presence of sodium deoxycholate. It was observed that sucrose have a positive effect on the MGL yield. The intracellular MGL of K. oxytoca BLM-1 cells were released 16 min of sonication.
