Green revolution managed to produce enough food to save the surging millions in the country, also it gave a temporary advantage to Punjab because of its agro-ecological and geographical advantage but this revolution has brought dispossession and destruction in the long run. Despite major share in central pool of food grain farmers are committing suicides, economically burdened, over-exploitation of ground water leading to its depletion, deficiency of micronutrient in soil, soil salinity, soil hardening and majorly deterioration of animal and human health are some of the toxic consequence of green revolution. Secondary data is studied in order to know negative externalities of green revolution in terms of indebtedness, suicide, usage of pesticide and chemical fertilizers, cancer etc. in Punjab.
